What is the cost of attendance?

-The tuition fee is 1,000 euros per semester

Who is the Postgraduate Programme in Clinical and Experimental Neurosurgery aimed at?

-The MSc Programme «Clinical and Experimental Neurosurgery» admits holders of a first-cycle (undergraduate) degree from the following departments of Greek Higher Education Institutions, or of equivalent foreign institutions recognised by DOATAP:

  1. Holders of a degree in Medicine from a Greek university or from corresponding departments of recognised equivalent institutions abroad.

  2. Holders of a degree from other University or Technological Education Institution departments related to Basic or Clinical Neuroscience (e.g. Neurology, Neurobiology) in Greece, and equivalent graduates of recognised institutions abroad (in accordance with para. 1, article 4 of Law 3685/08).

  3. Specialist and trainee health professionals (where this is permitted by the operating regulations of their institutions) from Greece and from recognised equivalent schools abroad.

  4. Exceptionally, students of other schools, provided it is judged that they will benefit from attending the full programme or part of it.    

When and where do the courses and practical training take place?

-Classes are held every Friday and Saturday. Most lectures and practical sessions take place in the lecture hall and the microneurosurgery laboratory of the Hellenic Center for Neurosurgical Research (3 Ploutarchou St., Kolonaki, Athens). https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Medical-Company/Athens-Microneurosurgery-Laboratory-1681991785393330/.

-A limited number of courses and laboratory sessions take place at partner institutions in Athens, such as the Departments of Anatomy and Pharmacology of the Athens Medical School in Goudi, and the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA), Papagou, Athens. 

I am a working doctor. Will I have time to attend the programme?

-Health professionals such as Neurosurgeons, Nurses and Physiotherapists already take part in the programme. Under the current regulations, 35% of the programme can be attended via the University of Athens distance-learning platform (eClass).
